Architecture of the Mind
My idea for this plot can be summed up thusly: Two people share a dream. Really, there could be any reason for it, or it could just be random. The two characters could know each other, or they could not, or only one of them could exist outside of the dream, or both of them could be the product of someone else's mind, but we can discuss that. The point is that they both share a very vivid dream. The reason I wanted to play this out is to experiment with setting and tone, so my idea was that the setting and backdrop could change at the drop of a hat, reflecting the characters' memories and state of mind.
What you need to know: 1. The plot is basically about the developing relationship between the two characters, for better or for worse. Because it takes place within their own minds, I think it would be best if you had an idea of your character's background and personality before we start. 2. The story doesn't necessarily have to involve romance, but if it does, we have to think about the consequences outside the dream. Are the characters' single? In relationships? Married? If this is two guys/girls, is one (or both) of them straight/closeted and thinks it "doesn't count" in the dream? If they know each other, how would they react to their feelings about each other in the dream versus their relationship in real life? If they knew each other but lost contact? If they don't, would they usually disapprove of each other? 3. It's very important that think of what goes on in your character's day-to-day life and how this affects their state of mind. 4. I'd prefer it if we did some IC bantering over AIM (or a plot thread) to make sure our characters have chemistry. 5. We can totally add another plot, whether in the dream or the real world. In fact, it's something I'd love to discuss. Plus, we can definitely have our characters go on little adventures within dream. 6. This plot will be surreal, but we can discuss how trippy it will be.
About me: I'm 19 years old, and my timezone is EST. My classes are sporadic and at weird times, but I'm online a lot. I have difficulty maintaining a female muse, so I'll probably be playing a guy. I play characters at any age, but my range usually falls from about 25-45, and as far as PBs are concerned I don't have any constant faces aside from a few I use for my HP muses. (But if you would like to play with them, I'd totally be up for that.) I respect quality over quantity, and would prefer three concise sentences of a well-written, interesting character to five paragraphs of a boring, generic one. I like having a good back and forth as far as plotting and character development is concerned, so feel free to talk to me. I will jabber forever if you want.
